POSITION SUMMARY | |||
ME&A is recruiting a Senior Social Science and Gender Advisor to join the USAID Feed the Future Global Program Evaluation for Effectiveness and Learning (PEEL) project team. The project conducts the full range of evaluative studies and surveys (including performance evaluations, impact evaluations, population based surveys, plausibility studies) for Feed the Future activities across the globe. The Advisor’s roles are to serve as the lead expert on how Feed the Future interventions are impacting and are impacted by social norms, social structures, and relationships and to ensure the quality of rigorous design, methodology, findings and recommendations within the studies.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS |
- A graduate degree in a relevant discipline such as Sociology, Anthropology, Social Psychology.
- At least ten years of relevant experience, and a broad familiarity with subject matter related to food security, gender, poverty reduction, nutrition, agriculture development, land/property rights, natural resources management, resilience and vulnerable populations.
- Demonstrable expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Support evaluation research related to vulnerable populations, particularly women, as well as how programs are impacting gender dynamics in the household and broader communities.
- Support evaluation teams developing PEEL program evaluations to ensure evaluations are accurately collecting and analyzing data related to vulnerable populations.
- Assure the quality of PEEL products including concept notes, research protocols, questionnaires, training manuals, evaluation reports.
