Chief of Party (Latin America)
Position Summary
ME&A is recruiting a Chief of Party (COP) who will be responsible for managing and coordinating a USAID monitoring and evaluation project. The COP’s primary responsibilities are aimed at providing overall leadership management and general technical direction of the project, ensuring an integrated vision among different components, and focus on ensuring high quality deliverables. S/he will be the principal interlocutor between the evaluation teams and USAID. The COP will also be very involved in recruiting appropriate teams for the individual Task Orders and ensuring the application of appropriate evaluation and research methodologies and practical applications.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in development or related development field, such as Political Science, Other Social Sciences, Public Administration, Economics, or other related discipline.
- At least 8 years of relevant prior experience conducting or leading development evaluations and monitoring projects and programs, preferably in Central and Latin America.
- At least two years of work experience in Central or Latin America.
- Formal training in monitoring, evaluation and learning preferred.
- Familiarity with USAID’s objectives, approaches and operations, particularly as they relate to M&E&L is a plus.
Skills and Competencies
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is required
- Language proficiency in Spanish (Level III) and English (Leve IV)
