Senior Level Grant Specialist for Food Aid Program Assistance

ME&A is recruiting a Senior Level Grant Specialist to support USAID’s Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA) in its operational and administrative support in coordination with their programs to coordinate their programs in international disaster response and humanitarian assistance; emergency and developmental food aid: conflict mitigation programs; transition activities; and, other DCHA Bureau initiatives.

The Senior Level Grant Specialist will negotiate and prepare all pertinent documentation for new grants, cooperative agreements, interagency agreements, awards to public international organizations, and all amendments/modifications thereto, and supporting documentation, such as waivers and memorandums of negotiations. Also, the Senior Level Grant Specialist will ensure packages of documents are complete for the approval and signature of the Agreement Officer. She/He will explain the legal requirements, policies and regulations, negotiation terms and grant procedures to U.S. and non-U.S. organizations interested in applying for grants. The Senior Level Grant Specialist will work with USAID to develop grant solicitations and post them on Grants.gov. She/he will advise the client’s technical review committee on grants and budget issues. The Senior Grant Specialist will participate in pre-award reviews and assessments and provide guidance as necessary. Other qualifications include:

  • At least a Master’s Degree in agriculture, agricultural economics, or related fields;
  • At least (12) twelve years of experience managing grants especially in the area of food aid;
  • Experience working in the areas of food and nutrition:
  • Knowledge of Feed the Future programs is a plus:
  • Prior experience working with USAID is a plus.
