Mid-Level Grant Specialist for Food Aid Program Assistance

ME&A is recruiting a Mid-Level Grant Specialist to support USAID’s Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA) in its operational and administrative support in the coordination of their programs to coordinate USAID’s international disaster response and humanitarian assistance; emergency and developmental food aid; conflict mitigation programs; transition activities; and, other DCHA Bureau initiatives.

The Mid-Level Grant Specialist will be responsible for entering appropriate grants information into client’s assistance planning and financial systems and for maintaining and reconciling the database containing grant award information, status and ownership. The Mid-Level Grant Specialist will review and record incoming requisitions for grant funding for accuracy prior to handing the grant requisitions over to the client’s Agreement Officer’s Representatives. The Mid-Level Grant Specialist will prepare and audit all award files and obtain approval of the client’s Agreement Officer for grants. She/he is also responsible for the dissemination of grant documents to grantees, overseas missions and other of the client’s stakeholders. Other qualifications include:

  • A Master’s Degree in agriculture, agricultural economics, or related fields;
  • At least (6) six years of experience managing grants especially in the area of food aid;
  • Experience working in the areas of food and nutrition:
  • Knowledge of Feed the Future programs is a plus:
  • Prior experience working with USAID is a plus.
